New Guild Wars Chat Tab Guild Recruitment
Alright I'm getting sick of this in pvp, pve, alliance battles, aspenwood, whatever!!!! Guild recruitment on local chat. Anyone but me feel a new tab should be put up for guild recruitment and that it can be set to ignore, that way we aren't all bothered by some noob guild recruiting. Sure people can pm us to recruit but we can easily just tell them we're not interested there. It fills up the chat so we miss important things other people say (teaming up, that kinda stuff). All in favor plz sign.

It would be good... At least people who are actually interested would be reading the channel.

A guild recruitment message only needs to be seen if you're looking for a guild, so I don't see why I can't shut it off
I also want seperate WTB/WTS/ Looking for Group tabs, but that's another topic

Proper guild recruitment isn't done by spamming local chat. I don't think there should be guild recruitment in local chat at all, as the people recruited that way generally beg for money, leave after a few days, ask to be officers immediately, spam guild/alliance chat, or play once a month. If you play with someone and find them to be a good player, ask them if they are interested in joining your guild. You'll find a much better retention of members if you actually played with them before recruiting them.
Now, since this isn't a topic about how to recruit...

Although I hate seeing the guild recruiting spam, I don't think it would help to have a separate tab for it. People will still spam local chat even though there is a specific channel for it. If it gets to a point where your account gets temp banned for using local for guild recruitment, we start to have bigger issues.
I don't want Anet spending their time temp banning people for chat violations other than threats, racist/sexist/hate talk, or harassment. I'd rather they spend time doing skill balances, working on GW:EN and GW2, and getting rid of bots.

...you do know that Anet doesn't have, say, Izzy go checking the rule violations right? Izzy skill balances. Some developers develop. It isn't like skill balancing suffers because the people who SPEND THEIR TIME BANNING will have more people to ban...
Seriously, how often do you see threats and harassment happen in all chat? Compare that to the amount of guild recruitments you typically see. If someone is going to, say, threaten to murder you, I doubt s/he will be doing it in all chat.......
With that said,

Yes, I know that. However, to suddenly have a GUILD RECRUITMENT CHANNEL, and ban people for not using it, they would find a larger number of people to ban than they currently have. The trade channel abuse banning has already increased the time they spend on these issues. It takes time and money for SOMEONE to look into these issues. I would rather the time and money be spent on things like balancing the game (wow, add more testers to have a better idea on whether Soul Reaping will be good), working on future games (GW:EN and GW2), and even things like the weekend events.
Local chat does not see the abuse of threats, harasment, etc., but these things happen, and people have to spend time dealing with it. Adding more to their daily list means less gets done in a timely manner.
I also do not want Anet telling me every single way I can communicate with other players. Although I do not use local chat for anything but random discussions and party searches, I don't want to be told what I can and cannot say in each channel. Next step might be that you cannot use local chat to LFG, as there is a SEARCH panel for this. Then you cannot use team chat to talk about a party you went to last night, as your team needs to only discuss builds and strategy. Soon you cannot use Guild Chat to ask for a price check on an item you want to sell, as there are websites and a trade channel you could use. I wouild rather not take any more steps on that road than what have already been taken.

Does the new(ish) local chat anti-spam rule apply to guild recruiters too? I wouldn't care if they stuffed em in a new chat tab or suspended their accounts, as long as it puts a stop to the clutter in Local.

I doubt many would use it. I think the party search area is fine if anyone would actually use it. People can look up there for guilds in the town with recruiting officers.
